Hillfoots Dinner Dance 2014

The Dinner Dance is Hillfoots’ social event of the year – the one night when all sections of the club get together to celebrate our achievements across the season.  And what a season – the 2014 Dance is sure to be one to remember!

We’ve seen record numbers in the Junior Section, from the Tag Tigers right through.  Our U16s took the Caledonia Midlands league by storm in their debut season, losing only one game and winning the title.  Not content with the league in the bag, the boys also made it to the final of the Caledonia Youth Bowl, finishing runners-up to Perthshire.

Not to be outdone, the seniors have also enjoyed their fair share of success!  Our 1st XV has more than made up for a disappointing season last year – rejuvenated by new Head Coach, Stuart McGee – the boys wrapped up Caledonia Division 2 Midlands at the weekend, beating Kinross 42-0 and continuing their undefeated run.

In a difficult season, the 2nd XV continue to field a team in Caledonia Division 4 Midlands.  In only their second year out of the reserve leagues, they have recorded some great wins over local rivals Alloa and Stirling County.

And who could forget our infamous Cast Tups?  The veterans’ side is well known across the country – and internationally! – for their special brand of rugby, keeping old friendships and rivalries going retirement after retirement!  In a big year for the Tups, the guys will travel to Beauvais to help our old friends celebrate their 50th Anniversary in May, before hosting the Scottish Golden Oldies Festival in Tillicoultry in August.

So, there will be much to celebrate at the Devonvale Hall on Saturday 26th April.  More than a decade has passed since Hillfoots last fielded a league-winning 1st XV, and with the continuing success of the Youth Section, the future is looking bright.

Please come and help us celebrate everything that makes Hillfoots special.  Tickets for the dance are available now for just £25; including a three course dinner and entertainment.  The evening gets underway at 6.30pm, with dinner served at 7pm followed by the awards ceremony.  Then it’s party time!
