Hillfoots 10-58 Caithness
Hillfoots made the long trip North on Saturday knowing they were in for a tough time. With 9 regulars unavailable through injury or work commitments it was always going to be a tall order to come away from this game with anything. The 16 that travelled, however, gave an excellent account of themselves, up against a home side at full strength. The opening exchanges were pretty even, with both sides struggling to come to terms with the heavy pitch. Caithness opened the scoring with a penalty, before taking a grip of the game and adding 4 tries before half time. Hillfoots had a chance midway through the first half to open their account, only for a forward pass to deny them a score.

With a slight breeze behind them in the second half ‘Foots should have done better, however, the heads were begining to drop and when Caithness turned over ball and hacked through to score the game was all but over. Keith Slade pulled a score back, burrowing over from a metre out. The homeside killed the game off with another cuoiple of scores, before Kenneth Mcvey finished off a nice move in the corner after the forwards had driven close to the line. Two more scores for the homeside finished off a thoroughly miserable day for the Hillfoots team.
