About Our Club

Our Motto is “everyone plays”

Hillfoots was founded in 1971 and for over 40 years its home ground has been the Public Park in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire. In 2012 it has 400 playing members and has been Scotland’s fastest growing club two years running. We are ambitious to create even more growth in the future.

Our aim is to create an environment where rugby can be played and enjoyed by everybody - all ages from 5 to 75 regardless of gender or ability. We value integrity, a positive attitude, commitment, and friendship as highly as we do rugby ability.

We have a thriving Adult section with 150 members. The 1st XV play in the Caledonia Regional League Division 1 and are having a great 2011/12 season. They are well known for their lovely open style of rugby. The 2nd XV team play in the RBS Reserve Caledonia Midlands 1 and there is also the over 35’s social side – “The Cast Tups”, with their own very special style of play.

The Junior section has 250 members with playing teams all the way from U7s (The Tag Tigers) to U18s. They are supported by a team of 15 fully qualified coaches to ensure a fun and safe environment in which to learn the game of rugby, whether at home training sessions, friendly games with local clubs or in competitive festivals.

Nestling at the foot of the Ochil Hills, Tillicoultry is in Clackmannanshire which is Scotland’s smallest county. Hillfoots RFC lies on the banks of the River Devon.

“Let Bourbon exult in his gay gilded lilies, And England triumphant display her proud rose: A fairer than either adorns the green valleys, Where Devon, sweet Devon, meandering flows.”
