Hillfoots Weekly News 13 Dec – Junior Christmas Party

Happy Christmas 2015

Hello Mums & Dads!

Well-done to everyone who trained last Sunday at Hillfoots RFC!! It was slightly muddy but everybody had a great time in the sunshine.   This Sunday we are training at Alva Academy in their indoor/outdoor sport facilities 1000-1130 – no mud, we promise!

The Party of the Season!!!

Player of the week awards – please return of all of the new trophies.

Could we please ask that everyone brings some party food as highlighted below:

cake

–          P1-P3: Sandwiches (veggie & meat options) napkins & paper plates

–          P4 & P5: Cakes (Chocolate brownies are JP favourites) napkins & paper plates

–          P6: Diluting juice, plastic cups & jugs

–          P7- U14: Snack items : crisps, cocktail sausages, scotch eggs (savoury items!!).

We would ask your help to set up the party while the kids are doing their activities and before the workshop.  Once the kids have finished, it will be all hands on deck to help with feeding the ravenous hordes – we would like to avoid a ‘piranha feeding frenzy’ not least as there is always plenty for everyone!

Hillfoots Christmas Present:

We will give every player their Season badge as a Christmas present.  However, please note that badges will be given to PAYING subscribers only (one for each child if family membership).  To check if your membership subscriptions are up to date for 2015-16 season please contact rdo@hillfootsrfc.com;  or you can pay now please go to http://hillfootsrfc.com/pay/.

Positive Coaching Scotland Workshop

We would also like to invite you to a parent workshop on understanding talent from a Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) perspective.  Many of you will be aware that Hillfoots RFC was the first Rugby Club in Scotland to be accredited by PCS and it forms the foundation of our playing/coaching ethos.  Jo Buchanan-Smith (Sport Scotland National Trainer for PCS leading on Understanding talent, physical literacy and Growth and maturation) will run this from 1045 till 1115.  There will be lots of discussion over some festive food and no homework set , so get involved !

Hillfoots PCS

Christmas Party Fundraising for Hillfoots RFC (ALL DAY):

We will hold the annual Christmas raffle, with great prizes for all the family including a cracking Thunderbirds alarm clock, wine and various rugby items.

How to get to Alva Academy:

Academy Avenue, Alva, Clackmannanshire FK12 5FE.  Park up and walk to the entrance at the back of the Academy opposite the pitches.

What will I need to wear for training:

P1 to P4 : Clean trainers , rugby shorts , socks , playing shirt and water bottle

P5 to U14s: Indoor & outdoor footwear (rubber studs boots only), rugby shorts, socks , playing shirt, warm clothing and water bottle.  If we can, we will also use the astro-turf as well as the indoor gym, so please come prepared for both!
